You can travel to Sporades islands by boat or by Plane as Skiathos has an Airport. 
By sea :
There are frequent boat  and hydrofoils trips to the mainland (Volos and Agios Konstantinos) and between the islands.

By Plane:  There are daily domestic flights by olympic airlines from athens to skiathos but additionaly the are a number of charter flights that enable you to flight directly to skiathos from the major europian cities.
